Beta-Carotene is an antioxidant that is able to neutralize free radicals. This action is particularly helpful in the skin, where UV rays from the sunlight generates free radicals. Beta-Carotene is also known as Provitamin A since it can be converted into vitamin A when the organism requires it.
Vitamin A from the diet or obtained from Beta-Carotene is important for twilight vision, blood formation and function of the immune system.
Vitamin C is an intracellular antioxidant that is known to boost the immune system. Vitamin C additionally contributes to reduce tiredness and fatigue. It associates with Vitamin E to form an antioxidant system that efficiently neutralizes free radicals.
